Temple History

Paippad Sree Mahadeva Temple is an ancient Lord Mahadeva and Lord Vishnu shrine located at Paippad (Changanacherry). It is situated at paippad, on Changanacherry – Kaviyoor road and 5 KM away from Changanacherry. Temple that signifies the unity of both Saivism and Vaishnavism.

The Temple is governed now by Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sangam under Branch No:410 Paippad.This Branch committee is the authorized body which is responsible for looking the day to affairs of the temple.

The presiding deity Lord Siva is installed in the form of Lingam in the sanctum sanctorum. The Siva temple faces East. Lord Vishnu is also given equal importance and the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Vishnu faces to West.

Lord Vigneshwara, Lord Ayyappa, Lord Balamurugan, Navagraha, Yakshi Amma, Nagaraja & Nagayakshi, Rekshas are the upa devathas.

A sacred pond is situated in front of the Siva temple and the artituctre of Sanctum of Lord Shiva revels us that the temple is built by centuries ago.

The main festivals celebrated at the temple is Sivarathri, Ashtami Rohini & Thiruuthsavams.

Conducting Akhanda Nama Japam (uninterrupted chanting) on first sunday of every malayalam month infront of Shiva Temple.

Tiruvathira Pooja on the day of Thiruvathira star of each month. Annadhanam is being offered on these day for devotees. Devotees can contribute generously towards these poojas can contact the temple office

The Thantri Sthanam is vested to Brahmasree Narayanan Neelakandan Bhattathiripad, Parambooru Illam and the Temple Melshanthi is Brahmasree Sreedharan Namboodhiri, Oongallor Illam
